Our Terrific Business and Website Reviews

“We had a backed-up sewer line that two other companies were unable to completely clear. One of the previous companies suggested it was caved in and likely needed a full lateral repair. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion from Heiden because they were able to clear the line of roots (which were actually the issue, not a collapse) and save me a ton of money and a huge headache. Adam and Jason were both so kind and informative, letting me watch the whole time and ask questions along the way. As a first-time homeowner, I feel much more confident in what my options are if we ever run into sewer issues in the future. Thank you!”

“Andy from Heiden was our hero after the flood of 2025. I had work scheduled to start but we got hit with the flood. Had six feet of water in the basement. Andy and his crew were here every day securing our basement and helping us with getting a new water heater and furnace. Everyone at Heiden was exceptionally professional and nice. Thank you, Heiden, and thank you, Andy!

“Heiden is a great company. Over the years, they have provided exemplary service from full-out furnace outages to leaky toilets. They always display courtesy, respect, and appreciation to their customers, and furthermore, Scott is a master at his craft and is the embodiment of true professionalism. Hats off Heiden, YOU ROCK!!”

– Jerry S.

“This company completed a significant sewer line repair in the middle of negative 20-degree weather. They were professional and considerate based on our needs to get the job done quickly. [They] had to dig down over eight feet in our yard to access the pipe that was damaged due to tree roots. Thankfully we were back up and running because of their knowledge and access to the right equipment within a few days of diagnosing the issue. Thank you for taking care of the large job during the dead of winter.”

“Scott Wyderka and the team at Heiden Plumbing Co. just replaced the two 40-year-old boilers at the old Engine 14 firehouse. The work done by the amazing craftsmen at Heiden is nothing short of artwork! We now have a high-efficiency boiler that we can monitor via an app. The team was very responsive to our many questions, they showed up when they said they would, and were able to remove the old system and install the new [one] with no interruption in our heating.”

A running toilet may not seem like a big deal, but it’s a sneaky problem to deal with. When ignored, it can waste as much as 26 gallons of water a day. Clogs, slow and leaky tanks, and worn-out flappers can all cause a toilet to run. So can faulty floats, refill tubes, and inlet valves. Try fixing or replacing those parts—or calling our experts for repair.

Clogged drains can be a recurring and frustrating problem. Between hair, soap, food, mineral deposits, and dirt, there are a lot of ways to cause backups. Fortunately, Heiden Plumbing has the solutions. Mix ½ cup of salt and ½ cup of baking soda together, pour it down the clogged drain, and let it sit for half an hour before flushing it away with boiling water. If that doesn’t work, don’t settle for chemical drain cleaners, which can harm your pipes. Instead, give our plumbers a call to clear things away.

A backed-up line is both frustrating and potentially costly. But it’s also preventable. Fats, oils, and grease from cooking are some of the biggest culprits of clogs. Instead of washing them down the sink—where they can stick to pipes—let them harden and cool off a bit, then throw them away. Similarly, be careful of what you flush down the toilet. Be sure to throw out paper towels, baby wipes, or sanitary napkins instead of flushing them.

The biggest symptom of a sewer clog that you’ll see will be with the drains in your house. Whether they’re backed up or slow, something bigger could be wrong. Other signs include:

  • Gurgling or bubbling sounds when water drains
  • Bad, sewage-like odors coming from your drains
  • Water seeping and setting out on your lawn

Typically, you can expect your furnace to last you about 13 years and your AC about 10 to 15 years. Those numbers are conservative, though. If you take good care of your systems and regularly schedule maintenance, you can help increase their lifespan.

In addition to lengthening your systems’ lifespans, regular service also improves your energy efficiency. Your units will be cleaned and tuned, your energy bills will decrease, and you’ll reduce the chance of unexpected HVAC issues, breakdowns, and repairs.
